If you think the perfume you received is fake, here’s exactly what to do - even if the seller has “no returns†on the listing.
1. Open a return - you’re protected under eBay’s Money Back Guarantee:
Go to your Purchase History:
https://www.ebay.com/mye/myebay/purchase
Next to the item, click More actions/Return this item
Choose “Item didn’t match description†(this is the correct option when something is fake or not as described)
Write a short note like “I believe this perfume is counterfeit†and add a few photos if you can
Click Submit - eBay will provide a prepaid return label, and you’ll just need to ship the item back using that label
2. Report the fake item to eBay directly (optional, but recommended):
Go to this page:
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/counterfeit-item-policy?id=4276
Scroll to the bottom and click “Report an itemâ€
Or go directly to the reporting tool:
https://www.ebay.com/help/reporting-policy-violation
Choose:
Reason: “A problem with the listingâ€
Detailed reason: “Unauthorized use of a trademarkâ€
In the comment box, write something like:
“I believe this is a counterfeit perfume. The scent and packaging don’t match the original product.â€
(Attach photos if you have them)
