If you purchased and received a counterfeit item, you will have up to 30 days from receipt to open a "not as described" claim.
If you have reason to believe that an active listing is counterfeit, you can use the "report" option within the listing to let eBay know. When reporting the listing, select these options: 1. Copyright and trademark 2. Counterfeit item or authenticity disclaimer 3. Counterfeit, fake, or replica items 4. "Continue" to open Comment box.
However, eBay customer service agents are not experts. You will have only 100 characters to explain why the item is counterfeit. A single report may not carry much weight, but if combined with a subsequent report, or buyer complaint, then eBay will have grounds to take notice.
When dealing with brand names, it may be more effective to contact the brand to let them contact eBay.
