Failure to apply Buy-It-Now price to sale items, and item still shows as "Active"
Anyone else have this happen: had 14 very similar items listed, all in exact same category, only differences were color so exact same listing template was used. Listed as regular 7-day auction with a Buy-It-Now (BIN) price for each. One buyer (for one item) used the BIN and eBay notified me as usual of a sale and the order record shows the buyer paid the Buy-It-Now price plus shipping applied and sales tax, so all good. Another buyer however first used BIN to buy 4 items and then again to grab 2 more a few minutes later and hours later 3 more for a total of 9. The problem is (for that second buyer) eBay applied the LISTING price, not the Buy-It-Now price for each of them (usually $20 to $40 less per item), I received notification of payment (looked normal, shipping and sales tax applied) but eBay shows each of those 9 as still "Active" in addition to showing them as sold today. What's up? Anyone else ever had or heard of this happening?
I have e-mailed eBay Customer Service, but they advertise 24-48 hours before a response. Since all 9 of those items in question are still showing as active, I would expect others to try and buy some creating an even bigger mess. I can not find an actual telephone number anywhere on eBay's site to call any longer. I suspect that second buyer may have a means to thwart eBay's system (worst case) or else eBay them selves have a bug in their system.
Thanks in advance for any guidance, advice or solutions offered. I'm a long time eBay'er (been here since they started, so yeah I've got grey hair!), not a neophyte bumbling around for the first time, but this is new one for me!
