Failed Delivery From Seller
I live in a typical city where many of the street names and addresses are very similar: E.g., an address would be 1234 N USA street and another would be 1234 S USA street. I get mail from similar addresses frequently, and similar addresses receive my mail. I explained this scenario to a seller I purchased (low-priced item) from, who says, once a deliverer claims an item was delivered, the matter is closed - in short - sorry about your luck. I really do not want to involve eBay staff, but should I?

Mentor8 months agoMake sure your ship to address includes the zip + 4 to help decrease mistakes by the carrier.

Mentor8 months ago@themailbox. If the item was delivered by mistake to a different address then you should contact your post office and ask them to check the GPS to verify where it was delivered. If delivered to an address other than on the shipping label then they should attempt to recover it.

OP8 months agoThank you for your advice. I did try that. eBay tracking data stated the item still had not been delivered, some 2-4 days after, a 2nd tracking service [Coretails, I believe; the original shipper] claimed it was delivered. The P.O. remarked that "dual tracking" does not "guarantee" delivery. When an item is delivered to the P.O. (from, i.e., Coretails ) , and the P.O. subsequently delivers it - the P.O. "trust" the mail-person to enter the correct delivery info.....which is often correct....but not 100%.....errors occur.....hence mistaken deliveries. One writer suggested (and I will use their advice henceforth) I use my "9-digit" zip code (not 5-digit) in the future - it might help. Confusing, I know !!! "Thank you" for your comment.

·9 months agoThey’re right. Once tracking shows delivery in your zip code, eBay considers the item to be delivered. Your address issues are not the seller’s problem.
