Extended Shipment Scam?

Question

Has anyone dealt with a seller on eBay that auctions off items, and then after you win the auction, there is a whole month allowed before the item is even required to be shipped? Then the return window closes just a few days after the month long shipment wait, so if you're not paying attention, the item could never arrive and then you opportunity to have Ebay step in and help closes as well. I would like to know if anyone else has seen or had to deal with this.

The estimated delivery date range is shown in the item listing before committing to a purchase. If the last estimated delivery date is too far in the future, that indicates a slow shipper or someone shipping from far away. Avoid those sellers if you are in a hurry.

Buyers have thirty days from the last estimated delivery date shown at the time of purchase to file an "item not received" case, so even if the seller has a long handling time or an extended delivery time, every buyer still has thirty days from that date to file an "item not received" case with eBay.

After thirty days, if the buyer has not filed a case with eBay, the buyer may still have some recourse through the buyer's payment method. Many credit cards offer up to six months of protection from the date of purchase; check with your card issuer for details.
