Extend my 30 day buyer protection to pass the 30 day
Hi
my item arrived broken, the seller is working things out with the ups insurance to refund me.
how I contact eBay to extend the eBay protection pass the 30 days limit claim frame?
there is no option on the help pages

Mentor2 years ago@philandfriends-org You don't contact eBay. You tell the seller you want a refund now per the eBay Money Back Guarantee. There's no way to extend this. Have you file an official refund request?
Insurance is for the sellers protection. The buyer is covered by eBay's MBG so you don't wait for the insurance refund if any that the seller receives.
Do hold on to the box, the packing material and the broken item, as UPS may wish to see them to settle the sellers claim.

OP2 years agoSo I have to file the eBay return claim then return item first ?
it’s a catch 22 because UPS may not pay the claim if I reship the broken item back to
the seller.
i thought in special circumstances EBay would extend that to let seller-buyer continue to resolve the issue of the refund

Mentor2 years ago@philandfriends-org You file the case if the seller won't refund you. The seller CAN go to the sold listing and select refund from the drop down menu next to the item.
OR if you file a return request the seller CAN issue a full refund without requiring a return.
You are correct that reshipping will void the insurance so that's why the seller has to do one of these two options.

Do not wait file the case the 30 days is fixed and will not be extended.
