Expired Shipping label..need help!

Question

I dropped off my package at the post office by mistake. It was supposed to be shipped with UPS. The post office was listed on the label as the final delivery method. My label has expired and I can not find a copy of it anywhere so that I can give the tracking number for the post office to locate the package. This happened once before and the package eventually got to the customer and I was able to track it because I save a copy of the label with both tracking numbers.

I have been in communication with the buyer and she is very understanding.

What can I do?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news bought there is a strong chance that the post office will destroy/ confiscate the package. I know they do that with Fed Ex packages that are dropped off at USPS.
