Excessive Shipping Charges
I bought an item that weighed 3 oz. The listed shipping cost was $50, coming from a new eBay seller in a neighboring state. Before purchase, Seller said she would ship Next Day and she also agreed to refund any excessive shipping, but she did neither without numerous inquiries from me. I sent numerous messages asking for shipping & tracking info but no response until the day it was delivered. Seller failed to send the shipping refund, so I messaged her again. UPS had advised that shipping an item weighing about 3oz shouldn’t cost more than $16. I sent Seller many messages inquiring about the refund, but no reply and no refund. I finally sent Seller an “actionable†message expressing my dissatisfaction and then she sent only a $20 refund! But if I was charged $50 shipping that UPS said should have been less than $16, my refund should have been about $39, not $20. Does eBay frown on Sellers who try to profit from excessive shipping charges? I was told my only recourse would be to leave negative feedback, which I did. Has anyone encountered this and is there any recourse through eBay? Thanks in advance!
