This problem may be related to searches with too many search terms, which may be breaking the search URL or causing the individual item URLs to break in the search results.
That might explain why the problem seems to only happen with certain searches or certain items with long titles in the search results.

Try starting from the main eBay page, and create a new search.
If that does not help, try using a different browser to see if that makes any difference.
