I am being asked to lie about a product/ alter my feedback to get a refund. It involves the description of a product which cannot or has not been changed.

Why not just return the item for a full refund? If what you received does not match the description, the seller must accept your return, pay the return shipping and issue a full refund when returned.
Go to your purchase history - select return this item. Under reason for return, select does not match the description, and follow the prompts.
The seller has 3 business days to send you a return label or a refund. If he doesn't, or says he can not send a label, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.

That makes absolute sense. I'm sorry if I may have been unclear. I'm not seeking a refund, exactly. I ordered bow ties that were advertised as glittering and paisley patterned. They were glittering but had no pattern. I expressed this in my feedback. In further communication with the seller I clearly explained my issues an told them what a paisley pattern is. The seller is not offering to change their description but are offering me a refund to change my feedback.

OK, as @woodland_gnome suggested, you can just ignore his messages, but returning the item for a refund as being not as described might prompt the seller to correct his description since those returns count against him.
You could report the message as feedback manipulation, but it is not specifically covered in the policy, so eBay might not see it as bribery. In the message click actions then click report message.

OP2 years agoThanks for all the advice. Party necessities meant that the ties were worn. Didn't realise I could flag up the actual message. Thank you all.
