# What Happened to eBay?
I’ve been an eBay seller for over 10 years. Thousands of transactions, good feedback, loyal customers, and years of building trust on the platform. But lately, something has seriously changed — and not for the better.
Every single time there’s a payout due on my account, suddenly a “restriction” appears. The item is already delivered. The customer already received it. Positive feedback is left. Tracking shows completed. Yet somehow, the funds are held for 8 business days or longer. after been delivered 8 more days how do you get out at the end of the night at midnight then I shipped the product or not
Why?
Nobody can give a straight answer.
One representative says it’s a “glitch in the system.” Another says the buyer filed a credit card dispute. Then another department tells me the previous representative “didn’t know what they were talking about.”
So which is it?
That’s the problem. Nobody seems to know what’s going on anymore.
Customer service has become completely outsourced overseas, and every time you call, you get a different story. There’s no consistency, no accountability, and no real answers. Sellers are left confused, frustrated, and waiting for money that rightfully belongs to them.
This isn’t a brand-new account. This is a decade-old seller account with positive feedback and a proven history. Never in all my years selling online have I seen payout holds and random restrictions like this become so common.
At this point, many longtime sellers are asking the same question:
Does eBay even care about its loyal sellers anymore?
Or are they slowly pushing out the old-school sellers that helped build the platform?
I’ve spent the last three months documenting and recording these experiences because it keeps happening over and over again. The excuses change every time, but the result is always the same: sellers waiting endlessly for their own money.
The sad part is, eBay used to be one of the greatest platforms in the world for entrepreneurs, small businesses, collectors, and resellers. There was a sense of community and support. Now it feels like sellers are talking to a wall.
Next week on my podcast, we’re going to discuss this topic in depth:
“What Happened to eBay?”
Because I know I’m not the only seller dealing with this.
