Erroneous Shipping Label Charges
I contacted eBay guys because the label I purchased for USPS shipping was rejected by the post office because the pkg I was sending contained a laptop battery. I came home, got in touch with a chat agent, he said that eBay would refund the charge for the incorrect label and then issued me a new label. I printed it out, went back to the post office, and shipped the package.
Then I find out that eBay charged me a total of $63.98 for four (4) different labels! What's up with that?
So, back to a chat agent who was very unhelpful but pointed me to this site...
https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/my-ebay
...and told me to request cancellation of the three erroneous labels but then wait 10 days or more for them to be refunded.
Here are the four shipping labels:
Aug 21, 2025 01:36pm
USPS Ground Advantage / 9434608106244179485283
$11.07 Delivered
Aug 21, 2025 01:34pm
USPS Priority Mail / 9405508106245194843837
$16.58 Cancellation requested
Aug 21, 2025 01:34pm
USPS Priority Mail / 9405508106244179479863
$16.58 Cancellation requested
Aug 19, 2025 03:38pm
USPS Priority Mail / 9405508106245187135505
$19.75 CANCELLATION REJECTED
The last $19.75 is the one the post office refused to use - so why was my cancellation rejected? And it was printed from eBay on Aug 19, but I couldn't get to the post office until the 21st - when the other three labels were created.
And what's up with the two at 1:34pm - both for $16.58 - where did those come from?
The first label shown created at 1:36pm is the only correct shipping label - and the item did, indeed, arrive at the buyer with this label!
So, I should be charged $11.07 for shipping the item but eBay came up with $63.98.
I have no trust in eBay chat support. Is there some support email address where I could send this? And many thanks to everyone for bearing with me - hope someone can lend a hand.

I'm sorry that happened.
USPS charges, each time you request to print a label.
You have 28 days to cancel a label. The refund will comes about 21 days after you cancel.
The USPS makes the decision on any cancelled labels are refunds.
If the post office scanned your label before sending you home with your package, the refund would be rejected.
It appears USPS scanned the package and that's why USPS rejected that refund. You might talk to your local post office, the actual person who scanned your label and then had you take the package back.
Lithium batteries need to ship with a Hazardous label. You can chose a Hazardous label as part of the shipping label flow.
