Entered the wrong tracking number
I recently mailed a package on the 26th, and i provided a tracking number which is apparently incorrect because it’s still pending as “printing shipping labelâ€, even though it’s been nearly a week since I mailed it. I went on the USPS site and searched the number again and it says “not availableâ€. I talked with an USPS agent and they said the same thing. I tried getting a replacement receipt from the post office and they did not want to cooperate.
Now the thing that concerns me is the contents of the package were a hefty price. The buyer could theoretically receive the package and yet claim that they never received it. I would then be obligated to reimburse them for the total. Obviously , I will refund my buyer no matter what —even if they are lying .
I guess what I’m asking is there anything else I can do to know for sure my package arrived?
if not , I really want to know because I do not want this money sitting on my account anymore. I just want to forget this ever happened and treat it as a very expensive lesson .

OP7 months agoThank you for your time . I guess whats lost is lost. Unfortunately I no longer have the receipt. Im just gonna have to hope my buyer is honest.

Mentor7 months agoFor the future, you might consider using ebay to print your shipping labels. The tracking is uploaded automatically to the transaction so you don't have to manually type in the numbers. Plus, you get to pay commercial rates instead of the retail counter rate.

Without the tracking #, there is no way to know if the item has been delivered. Try to find your receipt so that you can enter the correct # to the transaction. If you can't find it, just hope the buyer is an honest one (as most of them are).
