Mentor8 months agoHi @raetrent
You need to keep your communication through eBay for your own protection.
See this link for what to do when you received a damaged item:
If you received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.

Once the transaction has occurred, you can email with the seller, that's correct. However when there is a problem with the order, you want to have it documented in the eBay system in case you need to get eBay involved. I'm so glad the seller took care of the problem for you quickly. Thanks for posting back with the outcome.

It's not technically a problem. However if you need to get eBay involved, the off-site messaging will not be considered.
