Email saying I bid on an item
I got an email saying I’m the highest bidder for an item I didn’t consciously bid on. But in My eBay, it shows I’m not bidding on anything. The View item in the email takes me to the eBay listing and it shows my user as the highest bid. I don’t want the item and have sent a request to cancel to the seller. Anyone ever had this happen? The auction ends in 18 hours and I don’t want to be on the hook for this.

OP2 years agoWas able to get a customer service agent to call and got this retracted. Thanks for your reply. The issue is resolved

Was customer service agent able to explain how the item got on your bidding list if you did not bid on the item?

OP2 years agoNo. The bid button must have been hit by accident

Mentor2 years agoIt takes more than hitting the bid button to place a bid. Whoever did that had to enter in a bid amount and then confirm the bid on the next page.

OP2 years agoThis is so strange. When I go to my eBay and click on the drop down arrow and select bids/offer, nothing comes up and it says I’m not bidding on anything. But I clicked on the link you provided and the item appears. WTH?
