Yes i found this white box plugged into the outlet it says precision power on it has a wire plugged into it the other end plugged into something that looks like a phone box any one know what it is thank you

That sounds like one of those step down transformer-rectifiers that convert household line voltage into 24 VDC or 9 VDC or whatever the device runs on. Just a guess. Is there any writing on the device at either end of the cord?
