Editing a listing
I am trying to add a photo to an existing listing. It is an auction, and there are current bids.
When I try to add a photo, Ebay's computer says I am trying to change my return policy and blocks me from adding the photo. It allows me to click "add" and allows me to select a photo from my library, but then I get a red banner saying I can't change the listing.
Is this a temporary glitch, or are we simply precluded from adding photos when there are already bids in place?

OP8 months agoHere's the upshot:
1. You can add text to the description
2. You cannot add photos - Ebay will make it look like you can add a photo, but Ebay won't let you save that change
3. The old practice of answering a question, including a photo in the answer, and having it visible to all potential buyers has been removed

After a bid is placed and as long as there are more than 12 hours remaining on the current auction cycle the only thing you can do is ADD an additional comment to the Description. Buyers can then Retract their bids if they want per eBay policy just so you know.
If a Buyer has asked for an additional picture you can reply to the message and attach it to the message. If memory serves you can attach 5 images to a single eBay message.

Mentor8 months agoOnce a bid is made, you cannot change the listing. Bids were made on the listing as it is, which is why you can't change it. And yes, it would be because of the return policy. The buyer could return the item as not as described because you changed it after the fact.
