Mentor1 year agoeBay gets to decide what fees eBay charges to bring in the money that eBay requires.
Individual sellers get to decide whether it makes sense to sell on eBay or not.
eBay could decide to calculate fees a different way; but then the fee percentage would change to bring in the same amount of money (or more) to eBay.
What eBay is not going to do is suddenly decide to take tax and shipping out of the calculation and leave the fee percentage the same, so that all sellers pay less and eBay takes in less money.
