eBay's international shipper switched packages. How is it possible to resolve this?
I sold an item and shipped it, via eBay's in house International Shipping option, to South Korea. The buyer just got a package, but it contains a totally different item. Obviously the international shipping company put the wrong label on the package (and on at least one other package). My buyer filed a protest, but eBay automatically closed it because they believe that the package that was delivered contained the right item. How can this be resolved? Is there a way to speak to an actual human being at eBay who would know what to do?

Mentor2 years ago@chargerny It sounds like the buyer filed a not received refund request, which is understandable since they didn't receive THEIR item but tracking shows delivery so they lost the case.
Advise the buyer to file another request for RETURN.... doesn't match pictures or description OR wrong item sent. eBay will then refund the buyer out of their pocket and send a return label if they want the item back.
The buyer can file the return request from this page>

I don't think that you calling eBay will help with this.
I would have the buyer reach out to eBay on social media since they are located in another country if they need more help with the return request.
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media.

OP2 years agoThank you.
I did end up getting to speak to eBay customer service. The buyer had filed a "Did not receive item" complaint, which it why it was closed so quickly.
As you said, their advice was to file an "Item not as described" complaint and go from there. I'm kind of fascinated by this. Was it just that two labels were switched, or did someone at the international shipper mislabel dozens/hundreds of packages? I guess I'll never know.

Mentor2 years agoI've heard of this happening a few times where items were switched. How many is anyone's guess. They do record the processing and hopefully use that info to go back and provide more training for the individual that messed up.
