eBay's 4 day unpaid policy vs sellers allowing buyers to collect auctions to combine shipping
There are many sellers who allow you to bid on their auctions for up to a week pr even ten days because they sell many small items (think jewelry or little craft supplies, etc.) and the buyer and seller have a mutual understanding (in the most amiable and pleasant fashion) that the buyer can keep on picking up additional items for x number of days (varies between sellers) and then get one package. This works well for both buyer and seller and in the past eBay has acknowledged those exceptions.
But it appears that eBay has now just decided to overrule or override these policies that sellers have set and instead hound all buyers from now on indiscriminately with constant reminders and to force them to pay for all their items within 4 days.
This can be inconvenient at times for both sides, and when the buyer and seller have established relationships or rules (many sellers already have 6 day autopay set up, etc.) that don't fit into this new 4 day pay (or else) policy, this can unnecessarily tarnish the records of good and consistently upstanding buyers for some arbitrary new enforcement laid down by eBay and not agreed to or determined by those using it to sell or buy.
Does eBay understand there are exceptions that sellers would choose or prefer to carve out for these sorts of purchases? Is eBay really going to censure longtime excellent buyers for longstanding purchase relationships with sellers who work with buyers to collect auctions over time and bundle and combine shipping?

Mentor2 weeks agoIf the seller has opted into auto-pay, but allows buyers to combine shipping, the buyer can select the option to continue shopping, in which case s/he will have up to 7 days to pay for all auctions won.
