eBay won't let me send invoice to international buyer.
I sold three items to a buyer outside the US. When I tried to determine his address to send him a combined invoice I got a prompt box that read, "Invoices cannot be sent for international shipping." Say what? How am I supposed to know where the buyer is? How is the buyer supposed to know what to pay for shipping? I contacted an eBay live assistant. Boy, is that a fun experience if you've never tried it. After repeating myself 6 or 8 times they finally got the gist of my concern. Their answer? eBay now invoices the buyer separately because of import charges. How is eBay suppose to know what the size and weight of my package is, especially since the buyer won three items? The shipping information in the listing should be accurate. OK. My shipping information isn't perfect but it is close. However, eBay isn't packing this box with three separate items. Their's will be a best guess. I contacted the buyer and he's in Australia. That's a start. I explained this wonderful new magical international shipping system eBay has, asked him what invoice, if any, he received and what amount the shipping was. I'm still waiting to hear back on that. Do I sound bitter and upset?

Mentor3 years agoShipping can not be combined through international shipping, as you have found. Customs are generally based on type of item and often origin, so separate shipping is required. They will send 3 packages each with a customs declaration.
You could cancel the 3 sales and create a single listing for the buyer to purchase, if they are all in the same category. Or you could offer direct international shipping on new listings.
