Ebay withholding money for shipping.
I sold an item, EBAY, provided a shipping label, I clicked on it to see how much it covered and it was good for about half the actual cost to ship. So, I went to FedEx paid $104.85 out of pocket and shipped the item. I change the tracking info on eBay to reflect the correct tracking number, it is still on the details of the transaction. The customer paid Ebay $44 for shipping, The A I column does not understand what I am telling it, and so I am out $104.85, and the buyer paid $44. that Ebay gets to keep.

If you purchased a label through eBay that you are not going to use then go to this page and use the drop down menu on the left of the item in question and select Cancel. You can cancel a label purchased through eBay for up to 28 days and your account will be credited in 21 days or less. Track and manage your shipments
I would be concerned on how the actual shipping cost went from $ 44 to $ 104 ... was it a mistake made on the listing for weight and package size? I know FedEx and UPS are notorious for overcharging but also know sometimes mistakes happen too.

OP8 months agoThe shipping amount came from EBay. I put in the weight of the box, the outside measurements, etc, and they posted $44.38 as the shipping amount. I clicked on the FedEx label to see if I could change it, and apparently, I bought it at that time but did not know it. I went to the FedEx store, and they processed the box for FedEx Ground and it came to $104.85, which I paid. I changed the tracking on the Ebay page, and the customer received the box Thursday.

OP8 months agoI did as you instructed, thank you so much. Otherwise, I would be netting $104.50 on a $250 item.

Excellent! Sorry you were overcharged at the FedEx Store. Just so you know, eBay only provides a shipping label based on the information a Seller provides, including the type of service, actual weight and dimensions.
Now if you mean you used the eBay suggested size and weight shown just below the weight & package dimensions section on the lasting tool (screen shot below) then NEVER take their suggestions. More than likely they get their information from Sellers who got it wrong in the first place ...
