eBay vs amazon
The trend with me, lately, is that I purchase an item on eBay. Prio to purchase, there are "projections" to when the item should arrive. well, what's been happening is that I get a message from the seller, on the day that I was projected to have my item delivered, with "good news! your item is being shipped!" My communication with the seller, at this point, is fruitless! I've enquired about it, only to get a generic non answer! Then, when I get home, my item is there, delivered, but, in amazon prime packaging, with packing slips, and amazon coupons and gifts!!! this has happened on 4 out of my last 6 purchases! I am not at all happy about this and want to know if there's anything I can do about it? Anybody else experiencing this? Can eBay somehow stop it?

Mentor1 year agoDrop shipping is legal on eBay with some conditions. When it comes to Amazon if the seller also has a shop on that site they can use the storage and shipping facilities that are provided by Amazon to ship their eBay sales. Sellers are not allowed to just purchase the item from another Amazon seller and have it sent to you as a gift. This would violate both eBay rules and also Amazon Prime rules.
So if you see a gift receipt in the packaging then you can report the seller to both eBay and Amazon.

OP1 year agoNo doubt, at all, there are gift receipts in all 3 of those packages! Also…. When I asked one of the sellers about this, they tried to assure me that they are NOT drop shipping! Thanks for the insight!!!
