eBay violation of its own policies
About 3 months ago, we sold a pair of designer shoes on EBay. Everything was correct on the listing, including the size, which EBay confirmed. We have a no returns policy, and when the seller attempted to return, the item, EBay said we did not have to accept. We did not. Then the Buyer challenged, and EBay sided with us. However, then the Buyer had its credit card challenge it, who sided with them. And then shockingly, EBay did not stand between us, informed us we had lost the dispute after all, took back our sale proceeds, and last but not least, KEPT THEIR FEE AND CHARGED IS A DISPUTE FEE TO BOOT! This is absolutely outrageous, and the entire community needs to know that EBay does not protect you, and you actually are exposed to the Buyer’s method of payment. We are removing all of our higher-end items now, and recommend that everyone does the same.

Credit card companies will do anything to keep their customers, and are lenient with chargebacks.
As @kensgiftshop stated, it is would be better economically to accept returns and refund the buyer when you receive the returned item rather than to force buyers to turn to their credit card companies to get a refund.

·3 years agoSometimes it's better to just accept returns, at least you would have got your shoes back.
Once a buyer goes to their credit card, there's not much Ebay can/will do.
