Ebay Tracked Envelope Issue
I had an issue with the lady at the post office. I had one coin to mail it was a quarter. I did every thing correct by the Ebay guide lines. She stated to me you need to add .44 cents for non machinable envelope. There was no way to explain to her about the ebay tracked envelope, It was her way only.
I went to another post office which was further away from my house that post office had no issues with the envelope but I should not have to go that far out of the way to mail when I am going by the guide lines.
Any other thoughts comments or suggestions on how to make this issue work.

Mentor2 years agoHi @gpvett799 Other sellers have run into the same thing. All you can do is ask to speak to the post master if the branch is big enough to have one. Those standard envelopes are specifically for coins. "eBay standard envelope is the low-cost way to ship small, lightweight items such as coins...." There is also a requirement that "Envelope thickness is uniform, less than 0.25†inches at all points, and not too rigid." As @gosimus pointed out, that gets a bit tricky for coins. If you could find a packing material that's semi-flexible, like maybe thin styrofoam, packing foam sheets, or a piece of cardboard, and cut a piece the size of the envelope with a hole in the middle for the coin, tape the coin in the middle and that would do it. Then the entire envelope could be 1/8" thick and not too rigid. Good luck!

I don't know how well the post office sorting machines tolerate hard, solid enclosures, albeit small as a quarter. But even if will make it around the capstans and whatever else they have in those machines, the bump in the envelope creates a risk of damage to the envelope. If the envelope gets torn, the coin will likely fall out.
