eBay told buyer I set price on customs charge
I sold a card to a buyer in Canada. eBay told me to send to them and they would take care of the international part. I sent as was told. Buyer received from ebay but had what buyer considered a high import charge. Buyer called eBay and eBay told buyer I set import charge amount. Buyer contacted me and I told him it was not me that set charge. Buyer called eBay again and after 3 hours on phone gave up and wanted to return card. eBay told me not to worry because they would take care of return. I sent numerous questions to eBay about what they told buyer and that I appreciate them taking care of return as it was their doing. Then eBay sent a message that I would not receive card back. I sent numerous questions to eBay as to why I wouldn’t and that I would pay the refund to get the card back. eBay never responded to any of my messages and I sent at least 15 messages and no response at all, and no card coming back to me.

Mentor10 months agoThe eBay rep they talked to was totally wrong in saying you set the customs charge. Not all customer service reps are knowledgeable about everything especially International shipping.
As far as not receiving the card back. This is how the eBay International Shipping service works. You get to keep the money from the sale and they refund the buyer out of their pocket. Then they will sell the card themselves to recover the money they paid out.
