eBay tire fee when purchase.
This eBay charging tires fee is a sham because I still have to pay for the fees when I take it the recycling center to dispose of the tires. Why do I have to pay on here and then to dispose the tires, I have to pay again?

Because of the laws of your state.

OP3 weeks agoIt’s a law, but why do I have to pay twice? Amazon, WalMart, Discount Ties, Tirerack DO Not collect the disposal fee when order through online.

Mentor3 weeks agoeBay is required. I suggest you contact your state office for help with the tire disposal and fee and information.
eBay is required to collect and remit tire recycling fees on your behalf for new tires shipped into certain states if you sell to buyers in those states.
In California, the California tire fee applies to sales of new tires shipped into the state. The fee is administered by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA).
Florida requires eBay to collect and remit a tire fee for each new tire shipped into the state.
North Carolina imposes a scrap tire disposal tax on each new tire shipped into the state.
Ohio charges a tire fee for tires with rims of 13 inches or more when shipped into the state.
Virginia requires collection and remittance of a tire fee on new tires shipped into the state.
Washington also applies a tire fee on new replacement vehicle tires shipped into the state.
More information about these fees can be found on the respective state tax administration websites, such as the CDTFA Special Taxes and Fees for California or the Florida Department of Revenue site.

OP3 weeks agoAgain I can buy from Amazon and Walmart without paying the fee until install the tires then the installers charge for disposable fee at that time. No more tires buying from eBay.

Mentor3 weeks ago · EditedIf you are one of the states on the list, contact the state department of revenue for the state you are in.
They are the ones to speak with if you are paying double fees. They may have a way to refund if you can prove you paid twice or may waive the fee when you go to the installer.
It is similar to collecting sales tax, the states passed a law that requires buyers to pay and eBay to collect the fees. eBay is just doing what the state requires.
