Ebay theft
I listed 5 items and netted $39. After fees and postage. Still below the $600 IRS reporting requirements in place in 2025, did not provide eBay with SSN. My funds have been "on hold" ever since. And agents refuse to offer an eBay credit so I can at least use my seller funds to buy something from another seller. Ebay is effectively robbing me! I can guarantee I will NEVER recommend eBay to another person who wants to clear a few textbooks off the shelf.

eBay is obligated to comply with federal legislation in the United States.
They are not randomly asking for your SSN.

Mentor8 months agoBanking and IRS regulations require eBay to collect SSN's from all sellers no matter if they reach the 1099 minimum or not. eBay is just following the rules.
