eBay temporarily locked my account.
12 days ago ago I changed my e-mail but only now they have locked my account for no apparent reason. 10 minutes before the locking, I had an item arrived damaged, and wanted to contact seller about it -- eBay is blocking my attempts, telling me my account is temporarily locked. I tried chatting with an agent, but that requires signing in -- and my account cannot sign in because it's locked. I also had another item which I won get removed from the purchase history -- eBay would not allow me to pay for it, my account is locked.
I called the eBay telephone number, and their agents said a lot of my contact information changed, so this is why my account was locked. I asked what information was changed, they said name, telephone number, address, and e-mail. But then I told them what they were previously, and they were all still the exact same, none of it was actually changed -- in addition any such changes normally generate an e-mail; but I received no e-mails about it. They then said they verified me as the real person, but that they cannot do anything else on their end, and hung up on me as I was asking whether some other type of representative could help me.
Now that eBay has verified me as the real person, how long will a "temporary lock" of my account last? Is there any way to contact the seller who sold me the damaged item? Is there a way to remove the unpaid item strike?
