eBay telling me to sell broken items.

Question

I recently bought RAM off eBay and one of the sticks sold to me was broken. I was not offered a refund and the seller doesnâ€™t respond. So I called eBay and what they told me to do was to resell the broken item and not list it as broken. (As the original seller did) what should I do??

That's hard to believe that an eBay rep said that, but I'll report it.

Here's what to do...

If you received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.
