EBAY SYSTEMS DO NOT WORK - ASSISTANT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX PROBLEM!
For the second time in a year, I have tried to change the ebay site to reflect the CORRECT NEW EXPIRATION DATE ON MY CREDIT CARD (SAME CARD AS ALWAYS). Last time, I called over 15 times and they said it was fixed. Then they restricted my 23 year account (including awards and highest seller rating history) and I had to SCREAM to get it fixed. Now it is happening again! I want to give permission to charge the $2.10 charge so that ebay can withdraw it from my card, but their system won't allow it! I spent 1 hr, 25 minutes on the phone with two of their agents, followed their instructions perfectly, but we all agreed the system is not working! I stopped posting new listings because eBay has made the process of transferring photos from an I Phone 12 to a desktop (for editing) and then to the ebay listing IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO FOLLOW. Ebay has cooked the golden goose. I CAN'T GET HELP ON THE PHONE, BECAUSE NOBODY THERE KNOWS WHAT TO DO! eBAY HAS COOKED THEIR OWN GOLDEN GOOSE.

Mentor3 years agoTry using a desktop browser to update your card information, if possible. Preferably the latest version of a popular browser with default settings and no add-ons installed. Older browsers or obscure browsers may not have the necessary security to work properly for financial transactions.
Try adding the card as a new card. If that works, delete the old card. Sometimes that works better than just trying to update a card number or date.
Make sure you are using the correct date format. In most cases that is MM/YY -- enter just the numbers, not the slash. Make sure all the numbers are correct, including the security code, or it will not be accepted.
