Ebay Sucks
Ebay did me dirty!!! I sold and antique radio for a lot of money!! It got busted up in transit!! It was professional packed!! Ebay kept telling everything was ok dont worry!! A little over a month passed then they suddenly favored the buyer!! I did not have much warning!! Had to borrow money from the bank quickly since they paid the seller and hit me for the charges out of the blue!!! This has stressed me and my family out!! I have been with Ebay over 20 years and now they thrown me under the buss!!
I will never trust Ebay again and I will ban them plus work of mouth goes a long ways!!! Never never trust Ebay again never!!!!!!!!!! They are crooked and they LIE!!!!
Disgusted!!!!

·3 years agoHow did Ebay do you wrong?
Did the buyer buy a busted up item?
You're responsible for the item until it gets delivered to the buyer in the condition you stated in the listing.
If it gets damaged during shipping, you're responsible, no matter who packed it.
If you wanted to file an insurance claim with the carrier, you refund the buyer and file a claim with the carrier.
After 20 years, you should know how Ebay works.

OP3 years agoI am the seller I am not the buyer!! The buyer was in China he wanted me to ship this heavy radio to China!! That would cost too much plus was not comfortable shipping to China!! The buyer warned me he has had other packaged broken up in the states!!! He finally agreed for me to ship it to a friend in Oregon!! He then changed his mind and wanted me to ship to a friend in California!! I had this large antique radio professionally packed at Staples. and it was shipped UPS to California!! Several days went by then the buyer sent photos of this box busted up and damage the radio inside!! The box was a very heavy duty box from U-Haul!! Staple used bubble wrap, peanuts, etc to pack it!! Not it is all busted up??? This all dragged out for over a money!! Every time I call Ebay I would get foreigners on the phone that could barely speak English!! They keep saying everything is ok you have no worries!!
Keep in mind I have a severely diabetic wife, a daughter and her two kids live with us, she went though a bitter divorce!! She recently went through cervical cancer treatment with radiation and chemo!! I am 78 years old and I am the one trying to keep this household going!!! I did not know Ebay would turn against me!! I thought maybe they had protect for the buyer and this would not come of my pocket!! I am not at fault here at all!!
I do have insurance with UPS but that is getting complicated!!! I filed a claim and it is like pulling teeth!! It pending and I hope it goes through!!
I am very upset with Ebay for leading me on thinking everything was ok!!! I have gotten on line and found many people have been getting screw with Ebay!!

I didn't say you were the buyer. Everything in my post was directed to you, the SELLER.
Ebay did not "turn against you". You did not handle this properly.

Did you ever respond to the buyer's request/dispute? As the seller, you would have had plenty of notice and chances to respond the buyer's Ebay request.
When sellers do not cooperate, buyers can ask Ebay to step in to help them with their request, allowing Ebay to refund the buyer from the seller's bank account, and keep the item.
You may want to read up on how to respond to buyer's requests when they receive an item that is damaged/defective or otherwise not as described:

This was NOT Ebay's fault.
If the radio got "busted up" during shipping, you may be able to file a claim with the shipping company. Most of the time claims will get denied due to inadequate packaging.
