eBay Still Thinks an Item was Not Canceled
Summary: xjaywalker shares an issue with eBay, where a buyer expected an item, clearly listed for pickup only, to be shipped. Despite declining to ship, eBay insists on the shipment, stating a lack of response. krazzykats and comics-scifi-collectibles offer advice on handling cancellations and issuing refunds. xjaywalker remains firm on not shipping and clarifies no payment was received, questioning eBay's handling of the situation.
A buyer made an offer on an item I was selling. I accepted the offer and when I asked him for a pick up date at my location, he thought I was shipping the item. The ad specially stated the item was for pickup only. He asked if I could ship the item (mountain bike), which I said NO. 3X and he acted like I agreed to ship. I thought I had canceled the purchase. eBay said it would ship the item. I never agreed to any of this. Now eBay is saying because I did not reply in 3 days (not true) I need to ship the item. I am confused at eBays reply. I NEVER agreed to ship the item,. Do I just ignore this transaction? Both eBay and the buyer are sending messages and I can't get in contact with a real person at eBay.

OP1 month agoI don’t have any intention of selling this item and shipping it. Not my problem
If eBay took money from the buyer, let them refund the money. I have not received any funds

Mentor1 month ago@xjaywalker The system must not have recognized you agreeing to cancel.
Since there is a failed cancelation it will not be possible to cancel as problem with buyers address now.
The only thing you can do is go to the sold listing and select send refund from the drop down menu next to the item. You will get your sellers fees back.
This is how refunds work>>
Refunds, even for order cancellations, come out of your available funds not pending or held. If you do not have available funds then eBay charges your back up payment method for selling costs.
Have you entered your backup payment method for selling costs here: https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs. I use a credit card.
Once you issue the refund and the buyers funds are released from being held or finish processing then the buyers payment is released to you.
