eBay "stepped in" and got it wrong - Inauthentic Fitbit Watch.
Hi all.
I bought a watch that was advertised as a "Fitbit Charge 6" with all of the Google and Fitbit wording, and they even used the Fitbit Charge 6 official sales materials in their listing. What I received is a decent quality generic watch. It doesn't use the FitBit app, so it's worthless to me, and while I haven't tried it, it seems to be decently well made and they could maybe sell it on it's own merits if they tried.
I reported this to eBay and they found in the favor of the seller, saying that the seller has offered me the chance to return it, so I should just do that. But they want ME to pay for return shipping on a clearly deceptively advertised product, and that just doesn't sit right with me.
Going through the Contact Us stuff just holds my hand and walks me to submit a claim, which it won't do since that was already done for this item and a return has been approved.
How can I eBay to a) get them to pay for return shipping and, in a perfect world, b) get eBay to recognize that this vendor is acting in bad faith, and to penalize them for it? They have surprisingly good reviews for such a deceptive practice.

What type of return did you open? There are 2 types - Not as described and Remorse. For the reason you are returning did you select does not match description/photos or received wrong item? This would have opened a not as described claim and the seller would have been required to send a return label and then refund when they received the item back.
If you selected any other reason you opened a remorse return and you will have to pay for the return shipping. That sounds like what happened.
Go back to the order details and try to open another return and select does not match description or photos as the reason. If you can not open the correct return you will need to do a charge back with your funding source.
