eBay standard envelope shipping price discrepancy

Question

Good morning, I have several individual 35mm photo slides listed. When I list them, eBay allows me to quote eBay standard envelope shipping, up to 3 ounces and $20 max price. I have sold a couple of my listings that are below those thresholds, yet eBay will not give me the standard envelope option to ship, only USPS ground advantage. Therefore, I am losing about four dollars on each item. Why is there a discrepancy? My listings are in the category: Collectibles>photographic images>film slides.

In your most recent slide sale, your shipping option was First Class Letter, not eBay Standard Envelope. They are 2 different things.

You can mail the slide with a stamp, but you won't have tracking.

The "eBay Standard Envelope for Trading Cards, Stamps, Postcards & Coins" is a great option for some categories. To my knowledge, slides are not one of the categories

Requirements are

- Categories of Trading Cards, Coins and Currency, Postcards, Stamps, Patches, Sticker and Decals, Seeds, and Greeting Cards

- Weight up to 3 oz.

- Value up to $20

- Envelope Size - 6x4x1 to 11x6x1 (use 1" even though it is thin)
