Ebay Standard Envelope - Seller Rating
My understanding is that Ebay Standard Envelope is not supposed to count against on time shipping metrics because they don't require a carrier scan. I have 125 total sales for the last 12 months and a 94.87% on time shipment rating and it cost me from being rated as a "top seller". The orders I'm being dinged for were shipped via standard envelope. Is there a way to appeal this ding on my seller rating?

Shipping via eBay Standard Envelope doesn't absolve a seller from shipping on time. If you don't ship on time, you will receive a ding on your metrics.
From eBay Help:
eBay standard envelope doesn't require an acceptance scan - the built-in tracking is all we need to confirm your shipment. If your buyer asks for tracking information, they can find it in their Purchase history.

OP9 months agoMy entire point is that each of the four items were shipped on time, generally same day as the order if not, then the next day. I have a 3 business day shipping policy set up. But because the post office doesn't scan standard envelope they show up as late shipments and I got dinged.

There is an Appeal a defect button at the bottom of this Help page.

OP9 months agoI know that's what it says. It's just not happening that way. I meet every other qulification for top rated except the 95% on time shipping and the ONLY shipments it references that weren't "on time" were the standard envelopes that were literally dropped off at the post office no later than two days from the order date. I'll try the appeal thing. Thanks.

OP8 months agoI 100% get that. I DID ship on time. The report in the dashboard even states it was shipped on time. I literally says "Uploaded on time but no carrier scan" and is hitting me with a ding for late shipping even though eBay standard envelope doesn't require a carrier scan.
I reached out to seller customer service and the rep I spoke with agreed that they were shipped on time and that the carrier scan wasn't required and didn't know why they system was dinging me. He put in a resolution request and then another agent said they couldn't correct it because the shipping report showed they weren't scanned. Which again, standard envelope doesn't require a scan. So it's just a big mess that is costing me top rated seller status.
