eBay standard envelope error
Recently, the eBay standard envelope shipping service was down. I created a case and was told that this was a network level issue. As a result, I was forced to use a third party label provider for these orders during eBay's service downtime. Now, these orders do not have tracking - my questions are:
1. How do I know the order was delivered?
2. If buyers have reviewed these orders already, how to I mark the orders as delivered to close the order process?

-By "a third party label provider" what do you mean?
-Buyers have no way to mark an item received. They can however claim they did not receive the item and if you used a non-eBay Standard Envelope and did not type tracking manually to the sold file you have zero protection ... nor can you file for a refund via ESE.
-As a new Seller, regardless of delivery status your funds can be on hold for up to 30 days: Payments on hold | eBay

OP6 months agoI guess not really a third party provider - I had to generate the labels directly from the USPS website. The shipping labels are the same as the ones eBay uses because it is the same USPS service, however the tracking does appear to be different. The USPS tracking for these envelopes isn't really tracking it seems. I did provide each order the tracking number USPS provided me directly.
For example,
ebay tracking number w/ standard envelope service: ESUS000000000
USPS tracking number w/ standard envelope service: 012345678910111213141516
I appreciate your guidance and response. Any recommendations on how to proceed in the event this does occur again in the future? The service down time - for me at least - was roughly 1 week.

If you manually typed the tracking numbers on to the Sold items in eBay what does the tracking history show? eBay tracking is the only tracking that matters, not what USPS shows, USPS shares tracking updates with eBay IF the tracking number is on the eBay sold item.
ESE for collector cards, etc. is Metered Mail, not door to door tracking. That code cannot be scanned by carriers or counter clerks. That is why eBay lets you file for reimbursement on that shipping service through them (page link provided below) if a Buyer files a claim that they did not receive their package, you refund them through the claim: eBay standard envelope | eBay
For regular boxes you ship printing your labels through eBay (when your service isn't interrupted) has some additional benefits like that explained below.
eBay launched a new Seller Protection for sellers who print their labels through eBay and get a carrier Acceptance scan within their Handling time. If a Seller loses a Buyer’s claim that they did not receive their item and refunded the Buyer then eBay will reimburse the Seller IF the package is delivered later and tracking confirms the delivery.
