Ebay Sold Item Does Not Display When Clicked On
I saw an item newly listed for sale on Ebay as a Buy Now with Make Offer option. The list price was $1,000 but I know that was too low for the item and the item was not accurately described because the seller didn't know what he or she had. I receive emails for saved searches but when I click on the item in that email from Ebay I get a screen stating the item cannot be found. However, when I perform an Advanced search, I see the item sold Mar 21, 2026 at a list price of $995 or Best Offer. However, when I click on the item I get the same screen on Ebay stating the item cannot be found. Item description was "Confederate States of America Jefferson Davis Commemorative Medal Ornate Case" sold by cwrem-54. The item is actually an antique Great Seal of the Confederacy worth upwards of $4,000. This item has no historic battle flag. I know some items with flags are reported to Ebay and the listing is unilaterally removed by Ebay. But somehow this item was removed by Ebay AFTER it sold. Why? And How?

I was able to find that item using the information you provided. I can find the sale, I can't find the actual listing - ie it has been removed after the sale.
eBay removes items that violate the policy after the sale, often. ✓ But in this particular case, the seller has been removed from eBay and is No longer A Registered User (NARU)
NARU means the buyer has been removed by eBay for violating policies.
You can see a buyer's profile by replacing the <eBayId> with their actual Id

This was a new, zero feedback, seller.
It's possible the item didn't exist and the seller was attempting to scam the buyer using photos found elsewhere.
eBay has removed that seller, and I would breathe a sigh of relief that you didn't lose $995 and have to fight to a get a refund.

OP5 months agoYour explanation sounds logical. I was thinking the BUYER somehow got the listing removed by ebay so they could relist it at a higher price to flip it without future buyers being able to research the previous low price paid.
