ebay 'sites'

Question

ebay does not have an official site for my country. Example: ebay.co.uk, ebay.com....etc.Which site should I therefore use for my selling?

I see that Malta is located near Sicily, so I would guess you could sell on https://www.ebay.it

No, I’m not planning to offer items for delivery to the U.S.—only within Europe.

Initially, I also thought that the best site to work from would be eBay.co.uk. However, since the UK is no longer part of the European Union, I was a bit hesitant. I assume that most offers would come from the UK, and because it is now outside the EU, my goods might be less attractive to buyers there if they have to pay import duties.

Would it make more sense to start listing my items on another European site, such as Italy or Germany instead?

I’d appreciate your thoughts.

Unless you want to offer items for sale to buyer's in the U.S. I would suggest joining the U.K. site, since most of Malta's postal regulations are based on Royal Mail ones. You can list items for sale world wide from any ebay site, but I would start out by only shipping items to countries who are members of the E.U. at first, and when you get experience doing that you can expand the places you will ship to.

To get specific information about selling Under the Discussion header at the top of the page you can read topics or post questions about Buying, Selling, Postage, Payments... etc.

Do a Google search for "getting started selling, ebay UK" , but skip the first results over the Sponsored Results, and any results saying "It is easy to get started" The first two links under the sponsored ones would be the best place to start "Start Selling on eBay and Selling | eBay" There is a fair amount of reading to do and some of the info may seem confusing, so if you need to, ask questions about those things on the Community's Selling board.
