eBay showing listed items

Question

I have noticed this over & over in looking up items. When I look for an item for example “Oneida Flatware discontinued” and filter for used ones, it shows 6423 (as of 9-14-26). When you click on that, on the bottom of that screen it says “show 2300.” It does not show you all of the used listings - just part of them. I have seen this over and over as I look up different items. Any ideas about this? Thanks.

How are you searching and sorting?

It sounds like you may be using the eBay app. Try using a browser so you can actually count your results that appear.

When I search "used" condition using those keywords and no quotes, with a worldwide item location in all categories and "newly listed" sort order, I see 970 results that ship to my US location.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Oneida+Flatware+discontinued&_sacat=0&LH_ItemCondition=4&LH_PrefLoc=2&_sop=10

I see five pages of results at 240 items per page, so that sounds about right.

I can get more results using "Best match" sort order, but not the numbers you cite.
