Ebay sent me a w9 form. I just want to make sure this is legitimately from Ebay.
I was mailed a W-9 form from Ebay. I have never been mailed anything from Ebay. I need to verify this is really from Ebay.

eBay will send a paper request for your taxpayer ID (W9) when the IRS tells them your SS# does not match their records.
You can ask customer service to verify that the request came form them.
The easiest way to do this is to post a private message on social media. www.facebook.com/ebay www.twitter.com/ebay
To speak to customer service, use the link on the right side of this page “have us call you†- https://www.ebay.com/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
If you don't see 'have us call you', click chat. Then type contact an agent.

OP2 years agoI decided to search for the return address online, and learned that this address came from a single residence!
