eBay sends message to me about cancelled auction

So, eBay sends me a message that says they cancelled a bid and that the bidder was no longer registered user. the message came a week after the auction ended. the item showed paid I got a message from eBay to print label and shipped so I printed label and shipped a few days later the tracking showed delivered. so, after that message checking I see eBay had not paid me for the money they supposedly collected on my behalf.

Anyone have any ideas on how this could have happened and do I have any recourse

That sounds frustrating.

Typically, if eBay cancels the sale, you get to keep the buyer's payment.

eBay is removing the buyer from the platform for some inappropriate behavior.

If the buyer paid, that money should still be in your account. Don't worry about that part.

When they do that, they remove the transaction from history, which cancels the sale.

If the buyer paid, that money is in your account and it will be paid out.
