eBay seller keeps my keeping my money though package was returned, lost and seller reimbursed
The seller wrote repeatedly in messages to me that he would refund my money after the return. i returned package the same day with the mail carrier, unopened. but i didn't get a return label from ebay bc the package was sent back with the carrier. so i didn't think i needed one.
is this a good enough reason for the merchant to keep my funds, $759.50?
the seller kept stringing me along with promises he would refund the money many times. the package got lost by fedex and he was reimbursed. but he still has not returned the funds. he told the credit card company according to their agent that i didn't return the item. even though FEDEX has it in tracking and even though his claim was reimbursed. it's also all in writing from his messages.
but ebay doesn't care about that. i thought by having it in writing that the merchant said it was ok to return the package that this was good enough.
my phone number was cut off from ebay to speak to anyone else about the situation -they say it's a closed case and ebay website says i cannot appeal their decision.
in what world is this right that an ebay seller can ever steal someone's money after a return?
ebay is allowing this loop hole to occur and i would like to speak to someone in headquarters to address this situation. it's two months now that the lying theiving seller has kept my money. and if the credit cards do not back me, im now out $759.50 even after returning the package the day it arrived,
and ebay is wrongly supporting a thief seller who lies and steals and is a terrible influence to everyone on eBay.
it's my first time in 22 years that i had a seller who didn't return the funds. all because i returned the item with the mail carrier on the same day and didn't know i should still click on a return for a label i didn't need. it's 2 months now and still waiting on the credit cards. even if they refund the money, this loop hole and this seller need to be dealt with accordingly.

OP2 years agowell it turned out that the eBay seller told FedEx he didn't get the package!
turns out he did get it according to Fedex Return Tracking . and there is a video of it.
discountintech made a claim for the lost package and was reimbursed!
i hope fedex sues him and lets ebay know of his scam techniques.
Discountintech not only scammed Fedex out of money, he also lied to ebay and the credit cards, and me.
and eBay shut me down so i couldn't give them more info. they didn't care. will they care now that they have evidence he is a lying thief?

OP2 years agoit was an error yes. thank you for taking the time to write. it it not an error however that big that it should cost me 759.50 when it is clearly documented by fedex that it was not only returned to fedex but that a claim was made and reimbursed and this guy from discountintech is still trying to keep my money and lying to everyone about it. i feel im done with ebay for good after 22 years since they refuse to see that a seller can scam a buyer so easily by delaying the return money and not telling the buyer to get a refund on ebay. it should be listed on every purchase, in every email from ebay, IF YOU WISH TO RETURN THIS ITEM, under every circumstance, you must click on REFUND within 30 days. bc even after 22 years, i didn't know about that rule. i thought having it in writing IN WRITING on MESSAGES that i returned the package before 30 days was up was enough!!! and im positive im not the only one. it means 1000s of people are getting ripped off. and ebay needs to step it up a bit more to let everyone know there are many scammers out there, many people without any ethics or morals who will do whatever they can to keep your funds and not do a return. i want to let it be known and write an article about it and get it out across the country that eBay supports people who scam buyers out of their money by taking advantage of their rules. i can't even get a number from headquarters to tell them about this deviant seller.

You did not file a return request so there's NO record in eBay's system of the return.
If you look at the eBay Money Back Guarantee rules it states when a buyer can refuse a package and still receive a refund. The ONLY reason is if the package arrives POSTAGE DUE>
