eBay seller drop shipping from a seller on Amazon
So I ordered a sheet set described by a seller on eBay advertised as being “Jersey knit” material, which is what I wanted. On the arrival day i opened the package. It’s a sheet set!! The set is in a clear zippered case with a thank you note & contact us for issues. Along with/the thank you note is s little note saying it was a gift. Now I’m really confused. I thought I ordered the same sheet from smazon by mistake. I call Amazon & they confirm it’s a gift. I could return it to get a $24.97 gift card?? I also looked at the sheet info from the Amazon , & it was not Jersey knit, it was microfiber . There was nothing in or on the package indicating it was really from an eBay seller. Furthermore the return address on the outer package was from my local Amazon warehouse. I go back to the eBay seller description & I’m like ok good their description says Jersey knit. I’ll wait for them to arrive, still not putting 2 & 2 together. I look at the delivery on the eBay seller’s listing and it says it arrived. I’m excited I go outside to get the package, but it’s not there. Now I go back to eBay listing and I realize the seller’s address is in Israel!!! On eBay I paid $38 to the seller, so I contact the eBay seller asking what’s going on. No immediate answer, I opened a “item not received” case
Ebay customer service is absolutely impossible to get a hold off. I am the person from the other day posted here that eBay lies about returning your call. All of my blocking filters were off, I tried 7 times waiting for their call back, never came, they said they tried. I just was trying to find out what’s happening. Im not a happy camper. I wasted time and energy. So realizing it would difficult to get any information from eBay, I sent the sheets back to Amazon. I still am oblivious. The seller’s address finally messages me back a day or two later & says “we rent space from Amazon”. Now finally I make the the connection, start googling & I realize it’s something fishy. Because eBay is impossible for me to get a hold of, I close my case w/ebay. I go back to the eBay seller and ask for a gift card for the difference. I get like a bot answer, which has nothing to do with my request. I message seller again, still get a generic answer, same as the one before. I then am alittle more stern w/my message to them. They offered my a return credit of $3.25, not acceptable. Meanwhile eBay sends me a message saying the case is closed because I closed it. I then go to look at eBay’s stand on drop shipping & realize the eBay sellers broke eBay rules. Before purchasing I checked the seller’s feedback and they were all good. Apparently no one else minded that the sheets were not Jersey knit! Now the seller’s communication speeds up saying when they receive item back at their warehouse they will access. I said ok so when your space that you are renting receives it I’ll get a refund. They said no, when their warehouse in Israel gets it back. I literally spent hours on this. I told them that I need my refund on a gift card… they said when their Israel warehouse sends it back. I’m so frustrated right now!! I’m not a dum person. I just was trying to get a clearer picture of what was happening.

Mentor5 months ago@roadsideandhappyfinds In addition to reporting the seller you should file an eBay return request. Do NOT return the item to Amazon.
Leave appropriate feedback after you get a refund from the seller.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee over rules the sellers return policy. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to file a not as described return request for most categories AND 3 days for Trading Cards.

Open a return with the reason doesn't match description or photos.

Let me know if you need to return an item to another country as there are additional steps required. The seller pays return shipping for an item that is not as described no matter where they are located.

OP5 months agoLike I’ve already me, it was already returned to Amazon before I realized there was already a connection , but thanks for your offer of help.

Mentor5 months agoSome sellers sell on both Amazon and ebay, and have their inventory stored with Amazon. When an item sells, Amazon sends you the item from the seller. That is perfectly fine with both Amazon and ebay.
You received a Gift receipt with the Amazon package. That means when your seller sold the item on ebay, s/he went to Amazon and used his/her Prime account to purchase the item and send it to you. That is NOT allowed by both Amazon nor ebay.
