eBay scam…
I bought an Underwater drone off of eBay from china. It was a great price.
But the seller scammed me.
They stole a tracking number that was being shipped to the same city I live in. After confirming this was a tracking number was for medication shipped to a hospital in my city. I reported this transaction to PayPal. And they still ruled in the sellers favor… This was $1000 underwater drone that I didnt get. And eBay and PayPal say it’s out of their hands and I am responsible. What do I do?

Mentor2 years agoCheck your order details to make sure the correct address appears there. That is the address the seller is required to ship to.
Contact the shipping service to determine if the tracking number you received was for a package that was addressed to you.
Good advice for dealing with false tracking:

What kind of feedback does your seller have for selling?
You can avoid many fake tracking issues by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.

OP2 years agoIt turns out all of the sellers feedback was for purchased items. Nothing that was actually Sold by them. After contacting UPS, they sent me the receipt that you see in the photo. It is from one medical facility to an emergency hospital. That’s in the same city I live in.
Going through two appeals with PayPal it looks like I’m going to lose the case… eBay and PayPal are no help!!!!

Mentor2 years agoIf you are unable to prevail with your PayPal case, you may still have recourse through your credit card. Be sure to make it clear you are dealing with a false tracking scam, not a standard "item not received" case, otherwise the tracking showing delivery will allow the seller to win the case.

OP2 years agoSee the problem is I used PayPal credit To purchase this $1000 underwater drone. It’s crazy to me that PayPal and eBay are no help. And I’ve tried to talk to someone from PayPal and eBay and I cannot get through to anyone to explain the situation.

Mentor2 years agoAfter thirty days have passed -- or once a PayPal case has been opened -- eBay can no longer help you.
Had you contacted eBay via social media before that, or asked for help here to get that advice, you may have been able to get help through eBay with a false tracking case.
