Ebay return Label Issue
The buyer has decided to return the item at sellers expense by twisting the reason for "bought by mistake" to
"does not match the listing description".
I have sent the ebay return label through Fedex, and now the buyer wants UPS label because he cannot print fedex label and cannot use fedexQR code. UPS is charging me twice the money as fedex.
What should be done in this situation. Does Ask ebay to step in will help?

OP9 months agoFedex was the return postage option in ebay labels. The buyer just wants to sit home and get the item returned. I cannot see the fedex QR code or label anywhere in the returns claim.

Thanks for clarifying. That's how I read your post. You won't be able to see the return label or QR code that eBay issued.
Let the buyer know that he will have to use the eBay shipping label or else he can purchase a label himself at his carrier of choice. Remind him that if he uses his own label, he'll need to upload the return label that he purchased elsewhere to the eBay return case.

My sincere thanks for clarifying that ... believe it or not subtle changes in eBay's process can affect transactions, returns, etc. So it is good to make sure exactly what was done. Had you bought the label outside eBay but the claim was still sitting there then the option to send one through the claim still may have been active, that's why I wanted to clarify it ... so again, thank you!

If the buyer doesn't want to use the carrier you've provided a label from, then he will need to send the package back at his expense.
You're not charged for the label unless the buyer uses it. Since you approved the return, you don't need to ask eBay to step in...the ball is in the buyer's court. He must ship the item back before the deadline eBay gave him or the return will close.

I see at least one of your items offers 30 day returns but Buyers pay. Granted, their reason forces you to pay for the return label but you should have been able to send them a label through the claim process.
Go back to the claim and see if you can do that and then see if you can cancel the FedEx label you purchased. While USPS has a tool that allows their labels to be printed from home via a QR code FedEx does not so I am not sure how that works with you sending them the return label through FedEx??? Did FedEx send a pdf that can be printed OR a QR code??? The Buyer would have to take the package to FedEx and let them do it.
There is no guarantee that using UPS will work either and you could be repeating this conversation with a UPS label if you buy and send one of those.
It's risky getting eBay involved but you can reach out to them via Social Media:

OP mentioned they sent it through FedEx not eBay ... does the same thing apply then if the label is not used? I was under the impression the label is purchased first and then sent. (Obviously I've never done this so the mechanics of it are unclear - my return policy automatically issues the label to customers without me needing to be involved).

I read it that the return label for FedEx came from eBay. If I misunderstood, then please disregard my post.
