eBay policy regarding returns
Sold a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G SM-G781V to an Amazon buyer m1collector. This is the phone that on power up says Verizon Wireless, hence the "V" in the model #. Activates just fine on any network. I promised the phone was in perfect condition and would work perfectly. The buyer first claimed he couldn't activate it. But then he was able to. Then he claimed it wouldn't update. But then he was able to. Then he learned that as a five year old phone, Samsung's policy is that they do not provide O/S updates. I guess he got past that. Then he said that his dealer wouldn't touch this phone. eBay is requiring that I pay for return shipping and refund the customer all because he just didn't do his homework. It's impossible to reach anybody at eBay to discuss my obligations here. Has anybody else run into any of this?

Mentor5 months agoIf it has been less than 30 days since receipt of the item, the buyer can file a returns request for Not as Described. You WILL accept the return and pay for return shipping. If you do not, ebay can force the refund from your funds, you do not get the FVF credited, a defect is recorded on your account, and the buyer does not have to return the item.
If it has been more than 30 days, but less than 180 days, the buyer can file a chargeback with the payment processor. ebay will then charge you a $20 fee to process the chargeback. I do not know if you get the item back.
