EBay policies and changes.
I used to use EBay to sell then they wanted my bank account and eliminated Pay Pal. So I quit selling on EBay and switched to Marketplace.
Now they are blocking American Express forcing me to look elsewhere.
It is amazing how a company like EBay can just chase customers away.

Seems like Costco survived quite well after they made the same move. I prefer AMEX too, but my decision to buy isn't going to be made based on the credit cards the company takes. If it was, I'd have to change my dentist, my accountant, I couldn't shop at Costco, or buy inventory from two of my suppliers.
I guess if it was a choice between paying AMEX the higher payment processing fees or continue taking it and instead raise fees for sellers (which gets passed on to buyers in the form of higher prices), their financial analysis informed them that this was the best way to go. If enough big companies push back at AMEX's high fees, AMEX may rethink...
At any rate, if not being able to use AMEX is a deal breaker for you, then that's a decision you are free to make.
It's possible that you'll still be able to pay through PayPal with your AMEX card attached, but that remains to be seen. Maybe stick around for the change to take place to find out.
