Ebay over changed for shipping
Ebay charged over $15 for a 3 oz soffett vent which cost $5. I'm trying to contact to reverse the charge, Any advice?

Mentor11 months agoWhen making your listing, include the dimensions and weight of the package accurately. Being off by an inch can put you into dimensional pricing which is costly and if you don't make your label correct the first time, you are hit with fees from the USPS. Both of those things happened here. These added fees must be paid by you; you cannot ask the buyer for more money. I suggest you read up on dimensional fees through the USPS, Fed Ex, and UPS.

You are more than welcome.
-In your shipping section on a listing select Calculated and not Flat rate. Buyers will see how much it will cost them to pay you to ship to them.
-Invest in a scale that goes up to at least 10 lbs
Here are some general suggestions for determining weight and dimensions for the listing:
-For your items measure Length, Width and Height then add 1 to 2 inches on each dimension for the package size
-Place the item and an empty box on the scale, round UP to the next nearest lbs.
-If you stuff the airspace around the item with paper you may need to add another lbs to the weight. USPS rounds up to the next nearest lbs for anything over 1 lbs.

Actually, that listing's main picture shows a couple of those items, not just one. You should only picture ONE item and use the Quantity setting for the total number that you have for sale.
One of them measures 16" x 8" so the box for that will most likely need to be 17" x 9" x 2" to pack it securely so it does not get bent or damaged. I see $ 6.89 shipping to me on the listing but If I use the USPS calculator I am seeing from $ 10.15 to $ 12.30 to PA based on either a 1 lbs or 2 lbs box. So something in your listing shipping details is not correct.
If you are shipping further then it will be more. One of the issues with shipping an item where the shipping costs more than the item is if a return is forced on you then you have to pay for the return shipping ... and just so you know, the No returns accepted policy only applies to a very short list of return reasons. Buyers ar eprotected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee and eBay has several reasons that forces a return.

What was the dimensions of the package and how was it shipped?
