eBay not accepting my greenlight card for bidding.
I’m currently trying to bid on an item but a new eBay update is making enter my greenlight card completely separately from my saved cards. I can’t select my already saved cards in the app to use as my bidding payment method. I’ve tried the website, deleting and reentering my details, and contacting “support†(pretty useless ai). I’ve been able to bid freely with the exact same card before but now the app is telling me the card cannot be verified.

·1 year agoNot all payment methods accepted at checkout can be used to pre-authorize automatic payment to place a bid or make an offer, when those are required. And of course you must have sufficient balance/credit for the payment provider to pre-authorize under the rules of the payment source for the amount eBay provides (maximum bid plus s/h plus sales tax to the shipping address).

OP1 year agoSo it’s likely that Greenlight is not accepted for pre-authorized bids anymore? That’s a shame. Thanks for the help!

For auctions or offers if the seller requires a payment method in advance, you may have to provide a payment method for that. That payment method will be remembered by eBay for the next time you need to provide a payment method for an auction or offer, and that method will be indicated on your eBay Payments page as "used for offers and auctions".
